For one fabulous weekend, an abundance of flowers and art will be on display as the Garden Club of the Sandhills ushers in the spring flowering season by hosting the 2025 “Blooming Art” exhibit at the historic Arts Council Galleries at Campbell House in Southern Pines. The exhibit will be on display Saturday, March 29, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday March 30, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The inspiration for this art exhibit evolved from the very popular annual North Carolina Museum of Art showcase in Raleigh. Interpreting art via flowers is a growing gallery trend. The “Blooming Art” exhibit is the Sandhills approach, featuring the innovative artistry of local floral designers who interpret their selected artwork.

Members of the Boys and Girls Club of the Sandhills, with the help of organizer Hartley Fitts and artist Carol Gradwohl, recently created paintings made with acrylic paint. Their art featuring butterflies, paired with a beautiful flower arrangement, will be displayed at the annual “Blooming Art” exhibit, presented by the Garden Club of the Sandhills.
